Ugly Sweater Holiday 5K Raises More Than $18,000

December 9 was a great day for the NCBA, its Young Lawyers Division, and the North Carolina Bar Foundation’s N.C. Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program, or NC LEAP. The inaugural YLD Ugly Sweater Holiday 5K raised $18,000 for NC LEAP, which coordinates pro bono legal services for low-wealth entrepreneurs. Congratulations to event coordinator Leah Hermiller and her YLD army of volunteers, and special thanks to the 280 registrants and event sponsors who made the chilly, drizzly day a huge success.

A special thanks to our fellow Paralegal Division participants and volunteers!  Alice Johnson (2nd place winner in her bracket – yay!), Donna Evans, Leslie Pegram and Melissa Stockley Jones braved the cold, wet weather to run for the cause!
