Real Estate Paralegals Needed for Real Estate Section Project

The Real Property Section needs assistance in compiling data for all 100 counties across the state by those who handle real estate. The information will be collecting via spreadsheet and volunteers need only complete for the counties they are most familiar.

Below is the list of data points needed (it should only take 10-15 minutes of your time):

E-Recording (Yes or No)

Restricted Time Frames  (If none, state “None”)

Pre-Recording Requirements (If none, state “None”)

Wait Time for E-Recording Results

Limitations on E-Recording Vendors in the County  (Yes or No)

Fees for Online Access (If so, state the amount)

Other

Please refer to a Nov. 14 email from Debbie Harris to the Division which attached a spreadsheet that needs to be completed. Please return the spreadsheet to Linda Lee Marion at [email protected].

Member Benefit – Paralegal Division Listserv

The listserv is great benefit to membership in the Paralegal Division. It’s one of the easiest ways to quickly share information, get recommendations, find resources or ask questions to the 1,600+ paralegal members across the state.

The great advantage of this Listserv is you control your access and how often you receive emails. To modify your settings, log-on to https://www.ncbar.org/members/divisions/paralegals/, click on “ListManager” link on the right side of screen and then scroll down and select “Management Tool”.  You can update your email address and edit your email preferences on this screen.  You can even view the “archive” of emails sent via the listserv.

Check out some of the topics discussed on the Listserv in October and November:

Advice for reviewing medical records

Sample letters (spoliation, letters rogatory)

Job opportunities/openings

Templates for Designation of Expert, Arbitrations, Removal to Federal Court

Attorney referral requests

Technology recommendations (encrypted emails, e-fax service providers)
