Happy Thanksgiving 2019 | A Note From the Chair

By Tina Dadio

It’s that time of year again when we  sit around the table with friends and family giving thanks for the time we share, the food  to be eaten, and the memories we cherish.

I want to share a tradition in my household which I started when my husband and I bought our first house. We actually saw this on a show when we were dating, so we decided to start that tradition in our household. After you all settle down in your seat and before you begin digesting the 12 lb. turkey and all the fixings, each person looks to the person on their right and says one thing they are thankful for about that person. You go all around the table until the last person reaches you. It’s amazing the beautiful things that someone acknowledges about you. I love it when the kids have their turn, and believe me, they certainly have an imagination. You will laugh, cry, and be amazed. You won’t be disappointed.

My children are grown and now in college. I reflect on how time really does go by in a blink. Remember to breathe…As each of us are gearing up for the Thanksgiving celebrations – checking off our grocery list, prepping endlessly, cooking tirelessly, setting the table scape just right, greeting, taking pictures, and all else that comes with hosting a Thanksgiving celebration, please remember to stop, savor the moment, and breathe.

Don’t worry if something is out of place, the kids are crying because they don’t want to sit near their brother or sister, your family is trying to figure out how they can help, or the turkey didn’t come out just right. Take a moment, and be thankful for what you have. Remember those less fortunate and in need, express loving thoughts to those no longer here, and give thanks and gratitude to the men and women who fight for our great nation and to their families who may find themselves unable to be together during this Thanksgiving holiday.

I want to express a special thank you to all the NCBA Paralegal Division members and wish for your families a very special Thanksgiving holiday. We are truly thankful for each and every one of you for your support and service to this Division. You are what makes this Division special.  We hope to see you at the 2020 Annual Meeting being held on April 23, 2020 in Wrightsville Beach!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families,

Sincerely,

Tina Dadio, Chair of the NCBA Paralegal Division
