Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (CSH Law) announced that Brandy Cox is now a paralegal in the firm’s Wilmington office. Cox is a North Carolina Bar Certified Paralegal with more than six years of experience in elder law and estates. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies and a minor in psychology and from Cape Fear Community College with an associate’s degree in paralegal technology.

 

Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (CSH Law) also announced that Laura Dean, a civil litigator, has been promoted to of counsel. Dean, who is based in the firm’s Raleigh office, focuses on professional liability defense, general business disputes, premise and products liability cases, and admiralty and maritime matters. She practices in federal and State courts across North Carolina. She obtained a Juris Doctorate at the University of North Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from UNC.

 

Rylee Dillard has joined Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) as an associate attorney in the firm’s Charlotte office. Her practice is focused on medical malpractice, general liability and workers’ compensation. Prior to joining HBS, she practiced at an insurance defense firm located in Charlotte and represented clients in workers’ compensation disputes. Dillard earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a concentration in politics, philosophy and law from the College of Charleston.

Fox Rothschild has announced that Kimberly Bullock Gatling will serve as the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at the firm. In this role, Gatling will create and implement programs and policies supporting a diverse workforce and inclusive environment throughout the firm. Gatling joined the Greensboro office of Fox Rothschild as a partner in 2018, where she is a member of the Privacy & Data Security group. Gatling is on the board of the United Way of Greater Greensboro and of Cone Health Foundation and the Board of Trustees for North Carolina A&T State University. She has served as a member of the NCBA Board of Governors and NCBF Board of Directors, and she was recently selected as a recipient of the 2020 Citizen Lawyer Award by the NCBA. Gatling earned a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.

The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin announced that M. Kelley Solomon Johnson has joined the firm. Johnson is a personal injury attorney, and nursing home negligence is her primary practice area. Johnson has prior experience in real estate law. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Campbell Law School, where she helped to coordinate the Wills/Advanced Directives portion of the law school’s pro bono project. Johnson also holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from North Carolina State University.

The Daphne Edwards Divorce & Family Law Firm welcomes Melanie Pfeifer as an associate attorney. Pfeifer focuses her practice on issues impacting families, their marriages, and their children. Prior to joining the firm, Pfeifer practiced at Tharrington Smith. She graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law with a Juris Docorate. She holds a Masters of International studies with a concentration in public administration from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in both international studies and German studies from UNC.
