Annual Meeting: The Time Is This Summer – At Biltmore

By Josh McIntyre

There will be a time when your NCBA Annual Meeting includes three hours of CLE in the cost of registration.

There will be a time when family and friends attend because afternoons are open to enjoy activities at North Carolina’s most visited home.

There will be a time when nationally renowned speakers address one of the profession’s most relevant topics — wellness.

Truly there will be a time. It’s this summer – at Biltmore.

If you turned on your TV within the last decade, there’s a good chance you saw a Biltmore ad like this, invoking feelings of nostalgia for past holidays or memorable vacations. And if you attend the 2019 NCBA Annual Meeting this June 20-23, you’ll have a chance to make those kinds of memories at Biltmore with your peers, friends and family. It is sure to be one of the most timely, practical and fun Annual Meetings in NCBA history.

Our theme, Wellness: Work, Mind, Body, Life, couldn’t be more timely. The legal profession is one of the most stressful, so we’re bringing in some of the nation’s leading experts in wellness to speak at our morning general sessions. On the bill are Jeena Cho, Laura Mahr and April Harris-Britt, and we’ll even hear from a TEDx speaker and a stand-up comic. Our sessions will be engaging, relevant and entertaining.

The sessions will also be practical. Almost all of us need CLE and CPE, so we included 3.0 hours of credit over the course of the Friday and Saturday morning sessions at no additional registration charge. That’s right – it costs nothing extra and it’s offered during the morning sessions. We don’t want you to have to choose between attending a CLE or enjoying time with family and friends in the afternoon.

Which brings us to the final aspect of this year’s annual meeting: It’s fun. There is no shortage of exciting, relaxing or indulging things to do at Biltmore, from a float on the French Broad to a Land Rover excursion in the forest to tastings at the winery, we have a wide array of group activities for fun for all ages. Attendees can also purchase a discounted ticket to the Biltmore House, which allows for unlimited daytime access over the course of the Annual Meeting. Plus, the fun will continue with the new traditions of the welcome reception and awards dinner and the old traditions of the law school receptions and the Saturday night gala.

This June there will be a time to attend a timely address of wellness in the profession, a time to obtain CLE credit in the process and a time to do it all over an extended weekend with friends and family at Biltmore … and the time register for all of it is NOW.

Space for some activities is limited, so register today.
